  • Apprentice Welder / Fabricator

    EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

    Position located in Kyabram

    Empire Signs Group have an opportunity for an Apprentice Welder / Fabricator to join our growing team.

    As part of this role you will be assisting our experienced Fabricator with the manufacture of a wide range of signage solutions. Day to day, you may also assist in the assembly of signage, as well as assist on local installations where required, which will increase your knowledge on how different signage applications are constructed and installed.

    Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be awarded a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (MEM31922). In addition to trade school, you will receive on the job training with our team to help you build your skills and ensure you feel comfortable to complete tasks both as part of a team and independently.

    This is a great start-up role for anyone who has just finished, or is thinking of leaving school and is looking for a trade.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in the fabrication and manufacture of signage

    • Assist on local installs when required

    • Loading and transporting of signage, tools and materials

    • Wrapping and packing signs ready for dispatch

    • Unloading deliveries and packing stock away

    • Pick-up / drop-off signage and materials as required

    • Keep workshop clean and tidy at all times

    • Adhere to all safety requirements

    • Work as part of a team

  • Spray Painter

    Located in Kyabram

    Empire Signs Group are seeking a full-time Spray Painter to join our expanding team. This position is set to begin mid to late January 2024.

    Based in Kyabram, you will be working alongside our production team on the manufacture of a wide range of signage solutions. Day to day, you will be preparing various types of signage for painting, mixing and matching paints and applying paint accordingly.

    During quiet periods you may also assist in the assembly of signage, as well as assist on local installations where required, which will increase your knowledge on how different signage applications are constructed and installed.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare surfaces for painting or coating by removing dirt, rust, and any loose/old paint

    • Mix and match the paint and tints precisely

    • Pour paint into spray guns and adjust nozzles for accurate paint flow and thickness

    • Properly mask areas not being painted and remove tape at the completion of the job

    • Apply rust proof undercoats and primers using a spray gun

    • Sand and clean surfaces between coats where required

    • Identify and touch up any defective areas

    • Keep track of paint stock inventory and liaise with appropriate person

    • Safe use of spray paint tools and equipment such as spray guns, shakers, pressure pots etc

    • Wrapping and packing signs ready for dispatch

    • Keep workshop clean and tidy at all times

    • Adhere to all safety requirements

    • Work as part of a team
